Forestry Header Expert Committee on Forest Science Welcomes New Member – 2

We are delighted to welcome ecologist Professor Darren Evans to the Expert Committee on Forest Science from 1 October 2021.

Darren is a Professor of Ecology and Conservation at Newcastle University, addressing these challenges using systems-based approaches (advances in complexity science) at the nexus of biodiversity conservation, forestry, sustainable agriculture, and ecological restoration. His experience includes research on ecological networks, involvement in citizen science (Conker Tree Science), editorship of several journals (including Journal of Animal Ecology) and serving with the British Ecological Society policy committee.

Darren will replace committee member Professor Jaboury Ghazoul.  We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Professor Ghazoul for his long and dedicated service on the committee and we wish him well in his future endeavours.
