The GIS Team are recruiting GIS Support Officers to support an increasing customer base and development scope within the Forestry Commission and external forestry customers. You will be working with the latest GIS technologies and data, presenting an excellent opportunity to utilise existing as well as develop new skills. You will develop expertise across a broad range of geospatial technologies, data and delivery mechanisms underpinning our ESRI-based Forester/Geostore GIS platform.

Working within the Forest Research Technical Services Unit (TSU), the purpose of this role is to carry out all delegated administration and research work within TSU Fineshade field station and its satellites at Wykeham, Thetford and other Forest Research staff or departments.

In this role you will deliver a range of financial administration tasks in accounts payable/purchase ledger, expenses, and general ledger and in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial ledgers.

As one of the two new Laboratory Assistants you will primarily involve sorting and processing foliar and root samples in the laboratory and preparing soil samples for chemical analysis from new research studies.
