In this role you will undertake research across the group but will have a particular emphasis on the forest disturbances theme, which includes consideration of the social dimensions of storms, floods and wildfire as well as tree health.

In this role you will support research on a Defra-funded Nature for Climate Change project ‘Fungi for Forest Restoration’ (Fungi4Restor) aiming to investigate mycorrhizal mutualisms in former farmland and the role they play in successful tree establishment.

In this role you will oversee the Data Delivery function and be responsible for the operational delivery and management of the spatial data and mapping services.

As Statistical Analyst you will be part of the team that is responsible for the statistical design of the survey and the delivery of the programme of NFI statistical analyses and publication of statistical reports on many aspects of woodland across Great Britain.

The post holder will carry out social science research across four core themes, that contributes to improving understanding of the values, attitudes, behaviours of land managers and a range of publics and stakeholders, and assessing the impact and outcomes of policies, projects and actions related to forest and woodland management.

In these roles you will principally be responsible for carrying out Natural Capital Ecosystem Assessments primarily for the Trees Outside Woodland and the National Forest Inventory surveys.

In this role you will provide statistical support to researchers throughout their projects from advice on data collection to analysis of the results.

In this role you will work with research focussed on implementing and improving new methods in forest biodiversity monitoring and assessment, including novel technologies such as DNA metabarcoding and bio-acoustics.

In this role you will help support a portfolio of forest ecology research projects including two projects that are focussed on understanding tree condition and tree-associated biodiversity responses to forest management and land use change.

In this role you will support research focussed on implementing and improving new methods in forest biodiversity monitoring and assessment, including novel technologies such as DNA metabarcoding and bioacoustics.
