Toni provides statistical consultancy to researchers within Forest Research based around the following key areas:

Technical Skills – Providing statistical analyses based on the latest methodological expertise and analytical skills, using a range of statistical techniques implemented in the R software environment.
Quality Assurance – Actively encouraging the application of good statistical practice by providing advice on experimental design, data analysis and publication and presentation of research findings.
Knowledge exchange – Communicating and collaborating with Forest Research staff and providing training to encourage the development of statistical literacy and robust reproducible science.

Toni Clarke joined Forest Research as a statistician in January 2020, having previously held positions in academia working at the University of Edinburgh (2013-2019) and the University of Pennsylvania (2010-2013). Toni has a BSc (Hons) and an MRes in Biological Sciences from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from King’s College London. Toni’s academic research experience includes molecular and statistical genetics, bioinformatics and data science.
