Sarah is a Social Scientist and Evaluation Specialist at Forest Research with extensive experience in environmental social science, sustainability, forestry, natural resource management, and climate change. She holds a PhD in Sustainability from the University of Aberdeen, where her research explored professional learning and practice in sustainable forest management across Great Britain. Sarah has worked across academia and government research organisations, including Forest Research, the James Hutton Institute, and the University of the Highlands and Islands, leading and contributing to interdisciplinary projects using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches. Her expertise includes impact evaluation, Theory of Change development, stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and the co-design of research and policy programmes. She has collaborated internationally through projects and exchanges in North America and Europe and is particularly interested in the connections between policy, practice, professional learning, and sustainable natural resource management.
