Katie Carmichael

Katie is the Programme Support Officer for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero – Forest Research Memorandum of Understanding (DESNZ-FR MOU) delivering research on climate change mitigation to support Net Zero Policies.

Prior to joining Forest Research in 2022 Katie spent fourteen years working for English Heritage/Historic England as an Architectural Investigator where she managed projects looking at various aspects of architectural history whilst undertaking her own primary and secondary research, as well as writing a wide range of publications. Katie has an MA in The Archaeology of Buildings (Distinction, 2008) from the University of York, as well as a BA in Archaeology from the University of York. She enjoys both managing and continuing to learn more about her own woodlands outside of Edinburgh.
