About Daniele Ferraretto
Daniele is a Scientist in the Climate Change Research Group at Forest Research. His research focuses on the interactions between forests, water and the wider environment, including forest hydrology, water quality and the effects of forest management and restoration on catchment processes. He works across field monitoring, data analysis and collaborative research, with current interests including peatland restoration, slope stability and the role of forests in reducing flood risk.
What Daniele does
Daniele’s work at Forest Research examines how forest management, restoration and environmental change influence water movement and ecosystem processes. He leads and contributes to research on forest hydrology and water quality, including monitoring water flows and dissolved organic carbon in forested and restored catchments. He also works on the role of trees and forests in stabilising vulnerable slopes and reducing flood risk, and collaborates with researchers, land managers and other partners to develop evidence that can inform forest management and restoration.
