About Beth McMillan
Beth joined Forest Research in 2025 as a Research Assistant after completing her MSc in Conservation Ecology and BSc at Exeter University studying Zoological Sciences. Her dissertation research focused on the impacts of climate change on phenological processes. She works alongside the Physical Environmental Science Research Group and the Climate Change Research Group within Forest Research.
What Beth does
Beth is part of the Climate Change and Physical Environmental Sciences teams. She supports research at the Straits Inclosure long-term carbon dioxide flux monitoring site; her main role involves ongoing data collection within the site and field monitoring of soil CO2 fluxes. She is involved in data collection and processing for the ICP Forests “Level II” programme, assisting in the maintenance of associated automated weather stations and supporting other projects.
