Anthony joined Forest Research in 2023 to deliver the DEFRA Nature For Climate-funded Climate-Ready Greenspaces project, aimed at updating existing guidance on climate change adaptation measures for tree planting and management on vacant and derelict land.
This project will:
- Identify priority topics relating to climate-change risks to woodlands on vacant and derelict land, through practitioner engagement workshops
- Collate and update existing management guidance based on these priority topics and include consideration for adaptation measures for a future climate
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and roadmap relevant resources to support practitioners planning to plant or manage climate-resilient woodlands on vacant and derelict land
Anthony has previous experience working in information synthesis and public education development in a natural history museum setting, koala ecology and genetic research, as well as delivering large-scale ecological and environmental surveys for infrastructure development projects.
Anthony holds an MSc degree from the University of Exeter in conservation and biodiversity, and a PhD in koala ecology and genetics from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
