Kerry joined Forest Research in May 2021 after finishing her MRes in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Southampton the previous year. For her thesis, she researched the effects of water stress and presence of phenotypic plasticity within two Senecio sister species through morphological and transcriptome analysis.
Prior to this, Kerry completed her BSc in Environmental Science, also at Southampton, for which she researched the suitability of different garden habitats for pollinator species for her dissertation.
Kerry’s work at FR is focused on the susceptibility of Sitka Spruce to Ips typographus.
