The Green Grid is the delivery mechanism for the ‘Greening the Gateway’ initiative in the Thames Gateway. It has two key objectives:
This involves the improvement of existing greenspaces, the integration of existing and new greenspaces,and the creation of networks of cycleways, bridleways and paths between them in order to make the region a more attractive place to live and work. Community engagement and participation plays a vital role in the achievement of these objectives and a large number of diverse organisations and groups are involved with the implementation of the initiative.
