About Milly Bell
Milly joined the CFP in June 2025, having previously worked as an Engagement Officer for the Forestry Commission South West Area Team. Prior to that, she was a Senior Sustainable Development Officer for East Riding of Yorkshire Council where she developed and managed the Council’s Environmental Policy and Action Plan. She has degrees in BSc (Hons) Geography and MA Environmental Sociology, both from Lancaster University.
What Milly does
Milly is responsible for leading the planning and delivery of Centre for Forest Protection (CFP)* communications (including managing the programme’s website content, social media channels, and newsletters) and supports the ongoing development of the CFP Education & Training Programme.
She works closely with CFP scientists and a wider network of project managers and communications teams at FR, Kew and other partners and collaborators to plan and deliver engaging and impactful science communications and knowledge exchange activities.

The mission of the CFP is to protect the future of our forests, woodlands and trees from environmental and socioeconomic threats, through innovative science, interdisciplinary research, expert advice and training.
