About John Trimble
John joined Forest Research in 2019 after being awarded a BSc (Hons) in Forestry at Bangor University that same year. John completed a placement year during his degree acting as an assistant forest manager for a private company in Northern Ireland.
What John does
John provides research support for the Forest Management Science Group of Forest Research which aims to improve the scientific understanding of silvicultural practice with the objective of increasing the resilience of forests against climate change and biotic threats. To accomplish this he works closely with the Technical Services Unit to ensure project programmes of work and data collection are carried out as required. John is also involved with the subsequent data management and report writing for such projects.
