About Ellen Wright

Prior to joining FR, I worked as a Research Assistant/Researcher at the Universidade de São Paulo, where I studied ant caste behaviour. I also conducted fieldwork at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL), collecting floral abundance and diversity data from long-term elevation quadrats. Additionally, I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Bristol, focusing on the pollen and nectar resources provided by common agricultural plants for bees.

What Ellen does

I began my position at FR in October 2024 and have since been involved in a diverse range of projects. These include organising and supporting the NCEA eDNA projects, researching current forest type classifications with a focus on potential improvements, and analysing bryophyte and lichen data for the ToW project.
