Debbie joined Forest Research in August 2021 and is based in the new Holt Laboratory.
She is the Laboratory Manager responsible for the new containment facility and overseeing training and staff competence for testing activities for regulated quarantine pests and pathogens on trees. She is also involved in developing a quality management system of policies and processes that will result in the achievement and maintenance of accreditation to ISO 17025:2017.
Debbie has extensive experience in working in ISO accredited high level containment laboratories at APHA for 14 years and previous to that she spent 20 years as a college lecturer.
