About Will Healy

Will has a background in zoology and ecology, with a particular interest in forest regeneration. He obtained an MRes in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter, in 2020, through studying the natural regeneration of tropical peat-swamp forests. Additionally, Will studied BSc Zoology at the University of Exeter, 2015-2018. Prior to joining FR, Will worked as a molecular biologist studying a range of respiratory pathogens.

What Will does

Will joined Forest Research in 2023 as a Spatial Scientist in the Land Use and Ecosystem Services team. Here, his research seeks to understand the ecological value of trees outside woodlands in addition to how natural colonisation can be used as a strategy for woodland creation.
