It is estimated that 71% of all softwood removals from private sector woodlands were harvested in Scotland, 16% in England, 13% in Wales and the remainder in Northern Ireland in 2017 (Table 2.2).
There has been an overall increase in the level of UK private sector softwood removals in the last decade.
