The GIS Project Delivery Lead will be responsible for delivering programmes of work and projects to our internal and external customers and lead associated project and financial management.

The GIS Project Delivery Lead role will be supported by a Business Specialist. They will engage with our GIS Data, Technical and Service Delivery leads. And will also engage with external partners to define requirements, translate into deliverable work packages, manage resources and ensure delivery.

The Forest Research (FR) GIS and Data Services team sits within the Centre for Inventory Forecasting & Operational Support (IFOS). This is an expert, customer focused provider of forestry information, software, and service. The team manage and deliver an integrated spatial platform for forest and land management. This comprises ‘Forester’ web-based applications and ‘GeoStore’ containing detailed UK-wide spatial data. Also, ESRI Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and open-source technology are used to deliver services from the platform to 1600 users within the forestry and land management sector. Increasingly, mobile and remote sensing technologies, coupled with data science, are being used to produce derived data and information products for our customers. We also support a growing demand from our internal and external customers for focused GIS solutions to meet specific needs.

This role can be based at either of the FR research stations. At Alice Holt, Farnham, GU10 4LH or Roslin, Midlothian, EH25 9SY. Blended working gives the option to work some of the week from home, and some from the workplace. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
