About Noble Knott

The quiet car park at Noble Knott, with its fine views across the River Derwent to Skiddaw and Dodd Wood , is the starting point for two waymarked trails.

From Noble Knott you can walk a circular route to the summit of Grisedale Pike (790m asl) or simply enjoy a family picnic before heading further up the pass to the Visitor Centre.

How to get there:

Noble Knott is in Whinlatter Forest Park. Keswick is the nearest town or village.

Road:- From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.

Bus:- Bus from Keswick.

Train:- Nearest station is Penrith (25 miles east) on the west coast mainline.
