Has overall responsibility for achieving the objectives and targets set for Forest Research.

Research Director

Dr Peter Freer-Smith
Has overall responsibility for research within Forest Research.

Science divisions

Scientific staff are organised in six divisions which report to the Research Director:

• Biometrics, Surveys & Statistics
• Ecology
• Environmental & Human Sciences
• Forest Management
• Technical Services Unit (TSU)
• Tree Health

Corporate functions

Corporate functions are provided by staff in three groups which report to the Chief Executive:

• Administration
• Communications
• Finance & IT Support.
