Directions to Shobdon Field Station

By road

From A49 travelling south to Ludlow:

• Just north of Ludlow turn into A4113  (Leintwardine) for approx 6 miles
• Leaving Leintwardine bear left into A4110 (Adforton/Wigmore) for approx 6.5 miles
• At Mortimers Cross turn right into B4362 (Shobdon) for 0.5 mile
• Take 2nd right towards Easthampton for approx 1 mile
• At crossroads, turn right for approx 0.75 mile passing Uphampton House and Four Oaks on the right
• Opposite the two Sun Valley chicken sheds on the left, turn right along the lane which leads to Shobdon Field Station.

From A49 travelling north to Ludlow and A44 west to Leominster:

• At the Leominster roundabout take A44 through Leominster travelling west to Kington
• Leaving Leominster, bear left still on the A44 for approx 3 miles
• Turn right at crossroads into A4110 for approx 4.75 miles
• At Mortimers Cross, turn left into B4362 and follow above directions.

From A44 travelling east to Leominster:

• Passing  Kington continue to Pembridge
• In Pembridge leave A44 taking the left turn sign-posted Shobdon for 2 miles
• At the first crossroads turn right for Shobdon for 2 miles
• At the T-junction sign-posted Presteigne / Ludlow turn right through Shobdon
• Leaving Shobdon, take the first turn left sign-posted Uphampton
• Continue for approx 2 miles passing Uphampton House as above.

By public transport

The nearest railway station is at Leominster. However there are no buses from there to the field station. If you wish to travel by public transport then please contact the field station for advice.
