By road

From West A96 Inverness:

• Follow A96 east towards Aberdeen
• Pass through Nairn and Forres and Alves
• Approximately 2 miles past Alves turn left onto the B9013 towards Burghead
• Approximately 500m turn right into Newton Nursery
• The entrance to the Field Station is behind the Forestry Commission Nursery.

From East A96 Elgin:

• Take A96 west towards Inverness
• Approximately 3 miles west of Elgin, turn right onto the B9013 towards Burghead
• Approximately 500m turn right into Newton Nursery
• The entrance to the Field Station is behind the Forestry Commission Nursery.

From A9 South:

• Leave northbound A9 at Aviemore and take A95 to Grantown-on-Spey
• From Grantown-on-Spey, follow A939 and then A940 to Forres
• At Forres, take A96 east towards Elgin, pass through Alves
• Approximately 2 miles past Alves, turn left onto the B9013 towards Burghead
• Approximately 500m turn right into Newton Nursery
• The entrance to the Field Station is behind the Forestry Commission Nursery.

By rail

• Rail links to Elgin are via Inverness and Aberdeen
• Field Station is a 10 minute taxi ride from Elgin to Newton.

By air

• Airports are situated at Inverness (approximately 35 miles west) and Aberdeen (approximately 60 miles east)
• A bus service runs from both airports to Elgin.
