Getting to Alice Holt Research Station by road

 

From M25

• Leave at junction 12 (M3) heading towards Southampton
• Leave the M3 at junction 4, A331 to Farnham
• At end of A331 join A31 towards Farnham
• Continue along A331 Farnham by-pass sign-posted Alton and Winchester and join the A325 (Petersfield/Portsmouth) left at roundabout
• Approximately 3 miles along the A325, just pass Birdworld, take the next turning on the right (Gravel Hill Road) sign-posted Forestry Commission Research Station.

From M3

• Leave at junction 4
• A331 to Farnham then follow directions above.

From A3 south

• Approximately 5 miles north of Petersfield leave the A3 and join the A325 to Farnham
• Continue north along the A325 and after about 7 miles pass the ‘Halfway House’ public house on right at Bucks Horn Oak
• After approximately 1 mile, take the turning on the left (Gravel Hill Road) sign-posted Forestry Commission Research Station.

From A3/A31 north

• Approximately 2 miles south of Guildford, leave the A3 and join the A31 to Farnham
• After about 6 miles, follow the A31 left along the Farnham bypass sign-posted Alton and Winchester
• Join the A325 (Petersfield/Portsmouth), left at next roundabout
• Approximately 3 miles along the A325, just pass Birdworld, take the next turning on the right (Gravel Hill Road) sign-posted Forestry Commission Research Station.

From A31 west

• Approximately 7 miles north of Alton take turning right off A31 sign-posted Forestry Commission Research Station
• The entrance to Alice Holt is approximately 1 mile on the right.

Alternatively:

• Continue along the A31 to Farnham and join A325 (Petersfield/Portsmouth), right at roundabout
• Approximately 3 miles along the A325, just pass Birdworld, take the next turning on the right (Gravel Hill Road) sign-posted Forestry Commission Research Station.
