HEROES SOLVE QUEST TO SAVE SCOTLAND
Local heroes descended on Rumster Forest recently (Sat 23 August) to solve the Wolf Quest Adventure and save Scotland from being baked to death in perpetual sunshine!
The Wolf Quest fantasy adventure event – organised by Forestry Commission Scotland – pitched monsters, foes and fiendishly clever puzzles at the intrepid band of warriors.
Each group that took part was kitted out by the Commission’s own quartermaster with (wooden) swords, staves and costumes. They then set out to find the Blue Hag of Winter to get her to make more rain.
Stephen Fraser, for Forestry Commission Scotland in Dornoch, said:
“We held a similar event last year and knew that the quest would be really popular and we had over 100 people - young and old – turn out on the day.
“We staged the event on the same day as the Rumster Outdoor Centre Management Group’s AGM. We thought it was a great way to help publicise their efforts to replace the Outdoor Centre that burnt down two years ago.
“A lot of those who came along weren’t brave enough for the Wolf Quest but did find out about the plans for a new centre – so it was a double hit as far as we’re concerned.”
The afternoon included a free barbecue and a chance to explore the rest of the Forest.
