Based at both Northern Research Station and Alice Holt, Technical Services Unit (Engineering Services) provide engineering expertise to install and maintain both the fixed plant and systems and the specialised research equipment needed in laboratory and field based research projects including:

• Consultation and advice on equipment selection and design
• Development of specifications, design of equipment and production of drawings
• Costing, sourcing and purchase of materials, components and services
• Manufacture, installation, maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.

Our technicians have over 50 years combined experience in many engineering disciplines including research related engineering. They can:

• Design, install and maintain the varied and specialised equipment and systems required to undertake forest research projects
• Design and supply a complete system, built to your specification and properly installed, maintained and calibrated to ensure accurate and trouble free operation.
