What was the event?
This seminar was part of Forestry Commission Scotland’s Timber Development Programme.
The seminar:
- Highlighted key issues relating to the quality of home-grown broadleaves and hardwood timber
- Gave an overview of the impact of site and management on broadleaf timber quality
- Disseminated the most recent research findings relating to the choice of species and planting stock, nursery production, establishment and silviculture for improved hardwood timber quality
- Informed growers about the market for Scottish grown hardwood.

Who was the event suitable for?
This seminar was of interest to everyone involved in the planning and operational aspects of forest management for hardwood timber production. It was also of interest to people involved in processing and marketing Scottish hardwood timber.
