Improved conifer timber quality through plant selection and silviculture

What is the event?

This seminar will:

  • Highlight key issues relating to the quality characteristics, utilisation and marketing of home-grown conifer timber
  • Give an overview of the effect of choice of planting stock and silviculture on conifer timber quality
  • Disseminate the most recent research findings relating to the choice of species, choice of provenance/progeny, nursery production and silviculture for improved timber quality.

Who is the event suitable for?

Everyone involved in the planning and operational aspects of forest management, with a focus on softwood timber production. It will also be of interest to those involved in the nursery trade.

This seminar may provide 6 hours CPD for ICF members.
