Mark Oram, BSc, MSc
Field Station Manager, Technical Services Unit (TSU)Mark joined Forest Research in 2007 having been on secondment to WWF for three years managing an EC LIFE Nature funded woodland conservation partnership project working in the Peak District National Park and Wye Valley AONB. Prior to this, Mark worked within Forest Enterprise managing two ERDF Projects aiming to enhance the recreation infrastructure of two Forest Parks covering 70 000 ha within Scotland’s first National Park, and as a Forest Management Forester. Before joining the Forestry Commission, Mark worked for a number of private forestry companies involved with native woodland establishment and contract surveying and mapping. Current roleField Station Manager, Technical Services Unit Responsible for managing: - Teams of Research Workers at Alice Holt and Exeter field stations
- Research Nursery facilities at Alice Holt
- Research Engineering Services Workshop at Alice Holt.
These units provide a wide range of advice and support services to the forestry and environmental sectors as well as scientific staff within Forest Research.
