Technical Development services
Technical Development services offer a wide range of evaluation and development work on forestry and associated operations to both the Forestry Commission and external agencies and organisations on a contract basis:
- Developing, evaluating and promoting safe and efficient equipment and methods of work
- Producing a comprehensive set of technical notes reports and notes
- Providing advice on forest operations.
Activities range from farm and small scale woodland operations to large scale upland forestry. Technical Development services comprise foresters on tours of specialist duty and trained Work Study practitioners. Publications We produce over 50 associated publications per year, the majority of which are available to the private sector:
- Output Guides
Used for planning and rate setting purposes - Work Study Reports
Highly technical and specific to conditions studied and equipment tested - Reports
Fully written-up project results containing background detail, summarised study data, work description and results - Technical Notes
Summarised results from extensive trials or smaller projects - Information Notes
Notifying the industry of developments that may lead to further work.
