North west England - osprey webcam

The webcam is live but our Ospreys have decided to move to a new nest site. We hope to set up a new camera overlooking the new nest but this will take some time as we have to avoid disturbing the birds

In partnership with BBC Cumbria and the Lake District Osprey Project the Osprey webcam shows the Bassenthwaite Ospreys living in  North Cumbria. A live video of this image is also available at the Whinlatter Visitor Centre near Keswick.

The webcam is updated every 10 minutes from 1030am until around 3pm

If you see a great image send it to BBC Cumbria with a note of your name and any comments who will add it to the Osprey gallery

Note Occasionally, due to the remote location of the equipment, an image is not uploaded and an image number(s) may be skipped. If coloured bars are shown where the picture should be, this is due to the equipment, which is solar battery powered, having to recharge
