National inventory of woodland and trees
The National Inventory of Woodland and Trees for England is being published
at a country, regional, and county level.
The Inventory Report for England was launched on the 21 November 2001 by
Forestry Minister Elliot Morley at a Tree Council event to mark the start of
National Tree Week.
The regional and county level reports will be published during 2002; please
see timetable below.

The Inventory Reports for England and the regions cost £15 each and can be
ordered from Forestry Commission Publications (address opposite).
The Inventory Report for England includes a fold-out colour A1 wallchart
(pictured above). Wallcharts are also available separately, free of charge.

Inventory Reports at county level have been published as pdf files only. To
request a printed version contact: woodland.surveys@forestry.gsi.gov.uk
PDF files of the regional and county level Reports are available to download
below. Please note that due to the complex mapping contained within the reports,
the pdf files sizes may be quite large – on average, around 5mB.
