HR89/130 - FOREST CRAFTSPERSON (X2)

Post 1: Permanent, full time, based at Kings Wood Yard, nr Challock, Kent, Post 2: 1 year full-time, Fixed Term Appointment, which may be extended or made permanent, based at Micheldever Office, Winchester, Hants£15,243 and benefits - a higher starting salary may be offered if you have qualifications and/or experience considered to be of exceptional special value.You’ll join teams in both areas helping to maintain and enhance estate holdings using a full range of practical and forestry skills, including chainsaw/ clearing saw work and pesticide application. You must have experience of practical work and a clear understanding of forest operations and safety standards. NVQ/NPTC qualifications would be welcome. You’ll undergo HAVS (Hand and Arm Vibration Syndrome) and Audio testing if successful. The duties of this post require that applicants hold a full driving licence that enables them to drive in the UK. However, the Forestry Commission is willing to consider any proposals put forward by disabled applicants, whose disability prevents them from driving, that would allow them to do the job by another means.
