Why do I need permission?Dawlish Coasters Running Club at Haldon Forest Park. Peninsula FD

If you wish to organise an event on Forestry Commission land you will need our permission. We need to check that the event is properly organised, has adequate insurance cover and doesn't clash with other events or forest operations. Please give as much notice as possible.

Other activities may also require permission, including horse riding. For more details contact the office which covers the area concerned:

If you would like to organise a group visit download our education & learning visit application form. We classify a group visit as an event for members of a group or club that is non-competitive. This could be a school visit, a day out with your community group, or a ranger-led guided walk for your club.

If you would like to organise an event download an application form and guidelines. We classify an 'event' is anything where participation is open, such as a festival or fair, or where participants will be registering to compete, such as a horse ride, cycle race or orienteering event.

If you are unsure which category your events comes under please call the office. Horse riding and sled dog training application forms should also be requested from the office.
